This is information for the up and coming patch titled: Clarity.

All of this data is unreleased at the moment. This post will updated regularly until release date. The release date may change. Current scheduled release date is: Monday Evening 10/26/2009

General:

- New PvP room. We will be using the map currently used for the Skirmish event.

- Item use has been disabled on the PvP map. (If response to this is unanimously low, we will revert it)

- Using a new Dead Branch room system. A copy of Izlude is being used, with multiple Kafras, healers, and exiters spread out in corners of the map. Please share the room, and do not Kill-Steal other users. First offense is a warning, and then we ban for larger and larger amounts of time for repeated offenses.

- Main Chat will now have it's own distinctive color. We are trying out a light purple, but it may be changed in the future based on community feedback. Let us know how you like it! Solution found, Courtesy of Valaris of Symphonic.

- Adding a Kafra NPC to Moscovia and Amatsu.

- Adding basic town NPC's to Veins and Archer Village.

- Satan Morroc maps are no longer memo-able, and those with Satan Morroc memos will be removed.

Events:

- The Skirmish event will now be automated, and will run four times day. It now rewards 2 TCG cards.

- Skirmish event times: 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00 server time.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees Archer Village as a Save Point. I'm satisfied with that news. I sense someone complaining about no items in PvP...

Do we have a defined time for Skirmish?

Is there a reason for item disablement in pvp?

Suggestion: Make Skirmish automated time random, so no one really can complain about timing. It balances out the timezone for people since it's random.

I'd say because then it's not "He with the most pots wins".

I really like the idea of making it at a random time. The only problem with that is people complaining that they missed it X number of days in a row.

Where in the nine hells did you ever find the idea that I would fight fair?

This way PvP will be on even grounds and it'll be harder to completely 'dominate' pvp.

Lol you make me laugh tech, if you want it "completley Fair", then add dispel on entry.

I think its your choice whether you want to use items in pvp or not if you can afford i dont see why there should be any reason for there to be problems.
If people that are 70 come in and complain about dying every 2 seconds because there not geared.

For some reason i have a feeling this conversation has been bias to new commers.

+1 to Mozzimo. Nobody really completely dominates PvP without a party anyways. At least it doesn't happen very often. People use pots at their own expense, and so can everyone else. I never once heard about people complaining about pots beyond natural QQing, and I highly doubt any of the regular PvPers made the complaint privately. In other words, this is being changed so second classers who pop in PvP once a week can have a "chance".

No items in pvp sounds a bit weird. Maybe you could create an alternate pvp room in which no items can be used, so that people who are against their use can take a duel/whatever there? Unless I've missed something entirely, there's no reward for dominating pvp except e-peen, and if you want to spend your zeny on items to help you win, that's your prerogative.

I am for dispel on entry of PvP. I could care less about using items or not.

We were thinking about dispel on entry, but me thinks people will park buffers in corners with hide clips. I've done it before. Not to mention if a party is PvPing together, it'll be lame if they have to rebuff inside.

Pots in PvP favors certain classes a lot more, like creator and champ (classes where one shotting is possible and usually the main strategy). Nobody ever dies to a spiral pierce lord knight, or a double dagger sin. Not because these classes are bad, but because they deal damage too slowly (and like the LK, focus a lot on defense). When pots are thrown into the equation, defense accounts for very little, and the only competitive builds are those with huge burst / one shot capabilities (like sages setting up stone curse / web / double fire bolt, champs asura, creators AD, cart revo burst spam, agi matyrs reckoning spam etc).

I think the current communities response is due to a lack of thoroughly analyzing the subject matter, but that doesn't mean they do not have a point. Opening two rooms came up, but we decided against it because of population issues. It would be stupid to ignore it now, though, as I know a lot of players will ignore my words or find flaws in my argument and stick with their original proposition of two PvP rooms. We might open a second room.

I'd like to propose (should there more consideration towards two rooms) the two rooms holding two different concepts. Room A has no item usage, minus skill "catalysts" (cobwebs, gemstones, potion pitching hoohah, etc.) and Room B allows items but has dispell upon entrance.

Maybe it's silly, but chances are people would only flock to one room. It's just an opinion. But yeah, population would be an issue or at least something to consider.

People will ignore the premise of the rooms and join the populated one, because players > no players.

People are excited about main chat color, me hopes.

I certainly am. =3 I wonder about lavender though. That may only show up well on darker terrain, but be nearly invisible in places like Prontera.
See yah, peeps.

May I ask - if pots were disabled, would Potion Pitcher be disabled too or would a potion be considered as a standard material needed to use a skill?

PS: Didn't want to reply in the other topic (Name Changes), but if it wasn't a big problem, I'd appriciate a list of name changes already done. Just a paranoia about guild leader name change and recalling.

Any skill that has item reagents, like most alchemist skills would still work. We would never cripple a class like that, ever.

Sadly, that first is probably right.

And yes, we are. Or I am, at least. Relieved.

Pushing release date to Monday evening, after WoE is through for the week. Also, Kitoru is busy and won't have a few implementations done by tonight.

Thank you.
