This feature is now going to cost 5 million zeny. This is due to the massive number of requests we've gotten for name changes. We can't stop offering the service because people think we play favorites (which is ridiculous by the way) so this is the only way we can keep requests down.

Let any Game Master know about the name change in-game, and pay them the zeny. They'll notify me and it will be changed within 24 hours. Please make sure that the name is not already taken, as we will not refund the zeny cost. Name must be a minimum of 4 characters long.

Interesting update. Though I'm a little surprised the name changing grew to such an issue when there have been several other suggestions bobbing around and going rather unnoticed.

But at least this will lower the opinions that certain GMs are bias. Though I will say the method seems a little ... strange? Is there no way for an NPC to be involved, like with the gender bender potion?

I like the idea, but i have 2 questions regarding the subject.

What happens to Friend list / guilds / Storages in case of a name change, are those registered to the names in the DB, or is it solved by using guid's?

Also, if i have 2 characters and just want to swap there names (character A get characters B's name and vice versa), will that cost me 5 or 10 mil?

We actually are looking to disable this feature. Mainly due to scammers and an unnecessary work load on our staff.

Name changes are kind of stupid. You pick an identity, you stay with it IMO. It'd be nice to see this disabled.

I think that if you don't like your name, you should get rid of it while you're still low-level and can delete the character without losing too much time and effort. Otherwise, why did you pick that name to begin with?
