Graveyard Patch RELEASED

This is information for the up and coming patch titled: Graveyard.

All of this data is unreleased at the moment. This post will constantly be updated until release date. The release date can change. Current scheduled release date is: Wednesday 09/16/2009

General:

- Removing the ability to break Dead Branches and Bloody Branches in Izlude.

- Adding seven unique rooms for dead branch parties. Rooms attach themselves to your party ID, and only members of your party can enter the room. If nobody is on the dead branch party map at any given time, you will lose access to the map. All mobs will then be cleared off the map. There is no timer to regulate how long you can use the map, but because all data is wiped if left empty, it is advised not to use the room alone (unless you are sure you will not die).

- Fixing the Auto-NPC. He will turn @main on and off as he is supposed to.

- Re-enabled the use of Dead Branches on the map "jupe_cave".

- You can now make Cursed Water faster. The NPC makes Cursed Water out of all the Empty Bottles you have in your inventory.

- Fixed the zoom in Thor's Level 2 map.

- Cleaned up the Kill-Steal rules on the main site.

- @whosells command will be reimplemented.

- Updated the warper to show number of users in PvP.

Skills:

- Teleport being fixed. No moar menus.

Clarification: are these new four special zones the only place people can break DBs? Or can they still be broken everywhere they could have been before, excepting Izlude?

I believe right now Izlude is the only place where DBs are working, since it says in the Ares Patch topic they were disabled in all fields and dungeons.
Thanks for that Etchel. The server is a much better place to be now that I don't have to worry about jerks DB'ing my chars while I'm on a bathroom break or leeching...

In the Ares update, I disabled DB's in dungeons. They should still be working in fields.

Yeah, these four rooms will be Dead branch specific rooms only.

Should be also working on fields because of ksing in those rooms. Besides I would like to have MvPs I spawned via BBs just for me/my party which isn't really possible with only 4 DB rooms.

hey is it possible to make it like endless tower, you create a party and your party can go into a specific room, then no ksing no bitching nothing involved. or even make it so your group sets a password for that room (not sure if this is possible) then anyone you give pass to can come db and just chill out.

just a suggestion

It might be better to make each room lock to one party. Such as only members of Party A can enter Room 1 while someone from Party A is in the room(alive or dead). Of course, if the DB rooms are all full, then making more than 4 rooms is good. There should also be a kick time for being in the room idle or without breaking a DB or BB. Such as 5min, to avoid room hogs.

This is just my abstract opinion, feel free to improve or hate upon it. haha

It would be possible, although we're still working with the instancing system and haven't begun any serious development with it. It's a fantastic idea idea though and we'll keep it in mind, once we've played with the code for Endless a little.

something like 1 room for each guild (leaders would have to ask gms to open a room for the guild), something like vent on ero.
you talk to gm he opens a channel with the password the leader choses (in this case a room with the pass) then the leader gives the details to the guild members.
not sure if this is possible and its prolly easier to go with the endless tower mechanism.
although if it is possible it shouldnt be hard to add new rooms after creating the first one :mellow:

The dead branch situation might only get a temporary fix with the rooms. I might be able to make up to 30 rooms, but a password protected, party verifying room is a little more complex. This type of solution may come into light in the near future, but not by Wednesday.

rawr, my old server used a party-verifying npc to get into a certain room. [It would also tell you how many people are in such and such room so you could tell which room you could get].
I can get the code if you want...

+1, played on that server. There were 12-16 DB rooms or whatever, and you got an hour in the room or so before it kicked you out. Of course, it announced how much time you had left.

Sexy update, thanks for all the work Etchel, Kitoru, Scryed, and the rest of the staff...
It's nice to play in a server where the GM team is actually listening to the needs of the community, for a change...
